FAQ

Five bottles can look like a lot at first. It isn't. Here is how they fit together.

Can I use all five?

Yes, across a day. Just not all at the same moment. One serum in the morning, one at night, and hydration whenever your skin asks for it. Nothing in the set cancels anything else out.

What do you mean by "active"?

An active is the ingredient actually doing the work, the one changing something about your skin, as opposed to the water, glycerin, or thickener holding the formula together. Niacinamide is Vitamin Glow's active. Retinol is Retinol's. Every Bonti Bella serum is built to do one job well, rather than stacking several actives into a single bottle.

Which one do I use in the morning?

Whichever matches the thing actually bothering you.

Vitamin Glow if your skin looks dull, or uneven, or marked from something that has long since healed.

Green Tea if your skin goes pink easily and reacts to most things.

You only need one. Using both won't hurt you, but it works against itself. Green Tea does its job because there is so little in it. Piling a second active on top rather defeats the point.

Which one at night?

Retinol, however Hyaluronic Acid or PDRN (whichever you prefer) underneath is fine, and it tends to help: a layer of water can buffer retinol and take the edge off. Overnight is when retinol works, and it is the one that shouldn't meet the sun. Wear sunscreen the next morning. That part isn't optional.

Can I put two on at once?

Yes, as long as one of them is a hydrator. Hyaluronic Acid and PDRN go under or over anything else, morning or night.

Hyaluronic Acid underneath your Retinol is actually a good idea. The layer of water takes the edge off.

The one pairing to skip is Vitamin Glow and Retinol in the same sitting. Both are active enough that stacking them raises the odds of stinging or irritation, and there is no upside to it. Plus one is a morning product while the other is a night one, so there is no reason to combine them.

Can I use Hyaluronic Acid and PDRN together?

You can, but you would be doing the same job twice. PDRN already has hyaluronic acid in it, and both are built around pulling water into your skin.

Alternate them instead. Hyaluronic Acid when your skin feels tight or dehydrated. PDRN when you want to look rested by morning.

What order do they go in?

Hyaluronic Acid. Apply to clean, dry skin, morning and night. Massage in, then follow with moisturizer.

PDRN. Apply to clean, dry skin, morning and night. Massage in, then follow with moisturizer.

Vitamin Glow. Apply in the morning, then follow with moisturizer.

Green Tea. Apply in the morning and evening, then follow with moisturizer and sunscreen.

Retinol. Apply at night, then follow with moisturizer. Sunscreen the next morning.

I've never used any of this. Where do I start?

One bottle at a time, a week or two apart. If something disagrees with your skin, you'll know exactly which thing it was.

If you want somewhere to begin, start with Hyaluronic Acid. It's the easiest to get right and the fastest to notice.

How long before I see anything?

It depends which one.

Hyaluronic Acid. The first time you use it.

PDRN. By the next morning.

Green Tea. A few days.

Vitamin Glow. Weeks of consistent mornings. Tone moves slowly.

Retinol. A couple of months. It's the slowest thing we make and the one worth the patience.

Is there anyone who should skip one?

Two things worth knowing.

Green Tea contains tamanu, which is pressed from a tree nut. If you have a nut allergy, skip this one.

Retinol is not for use during pregnancy or while nursing. If that's you, leave it out and check with your doctor.

With anything new, patch test first and stop if your skin is unhappy about it.
